She sits in a golden harbor, surrounded by sea breezes on one side and the dry, dusty sands on the other. When the sun rises peach and rose in the morning she is fair, smiling; when the dusk paints the skies dark, she is a dangerous seductress. She wears many veils, but she has but one face. Shazrad, the City of Veils. The city has lived on the wits of its leaders, the wiles of its citizens, the way of sun and water. In the long generations since her birth, she has stood proud and alone. Until now. For what can be resisted from without...may prove fatal from within. Although there are countless PBeM games out there, many collapse within the first month, are bloated with players, or consist of writing that wouldn't have made it past a third grade English teacher, never mind you. Or us. We've had our share of low-quality PBeMs. And we're tired of searching for the truly good ones out there, which are few and far between. An obvious solution is to start our own...so we did. Welcome to Shazrad: City of Veils, a fantasy free-form play-by-email roleplaying game. (If you don't know what any of those words mean, check out the introduction to roleplaying.) We're committed to high-quality writing and character development. If you are, too, then consider applying. If you don't want to play, you're missing out on something--but nonetheless, feel free to browse about the website and consider lurking to become a spectator to what we guarantee will be great writing and roleplaying. The entire game will take place in Shazrad, a single city but one with more depth than you--or your character--will likely ever plumb.
